Football Australia have confirmed that play-offs for the final rounds of the upcoming Australia Cup competition will take place between A-League clubs immediately following the Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The Final Rounds Playoffs involve two knockout matches where the winners will qualify as the final two A- League Men club entrants into the Australia Cup 2022 Final Rounds. These matches will involve the following matchups based on standings at the conclusion of the A-League Men 2021/22 Regular Season table:
- Playoff match 1: 9th placed v 12th placed
- Playoff match 2: 10th placed v 11th placed
The play-off matches will take place between Thursday 12 May, and Sunday 15 May opposed to last season’s format where games where played a week prior to the A-League Season. The scheduling change has been made so that clubs can utilise their current Player Rosters.
