The two attackers played a huge role in last season’s run to the semi-final, with 26-year-old Jenna Kingsley starting in all 13 games and proving an important asset in the final third.

Kingsley has kept busy over the off-season, playing in all 18 matches for Warners Bay in the Northern NSW Women’s Premier League.

The attacking weapon finished the season as the league’s highest goalscorer, with 27 goals propelling Warners Bay to a second consecutive Grand Final.

20-year-old Cortnee Vine made 11 appearances for the Jets last season and was used primarily as an impact player, coming off the bench on eight occasions and using her speed to unlock opposition defences.

Sydney University in the NPL NSW Women’s competition has been Vine’s home during the winter, and it’s a league where she’s shone.

Vine – an Australian U20 representative – scored 22 goals in just 18 matches in the league this season, a tally which helped take her side all the way to the Grand Final.

Newcastle Jets W-League Coach, Craig Deans was pleased to have the two attacking weapons back on board.

“Jenna and Cortnee have been keeping busy over the off-season and playing really well,” Deans said.

“Our focus is again on playing exciting, attacking football this season and they’ll play a big role in that.

“Jenna and Cortnee each had great seasons in 2017/18, and I’m hoping they can kick on with things once again this year.

“I’m excited to have the pair back on board, and with the local league’s now finished and NWSL coming to a close we’re looking forward to making more announcements in the lead up to the season.”
