The Newcastle Jets have stolen a point at the death with a last minute Trent Buhagiar equaliser against Perth Glory at McDonald Jones Stadium.
After a cagey first 20 minutes, the match sparked into life when Thomas Aquilina burst into the penalty box for the Jets only to be brought down. Apostolos Stamatelopoulos stepped up from the spot to make it 1-0 for the home side.
Moments later Stamatelopoulos almost had his second when a freaksih goal-line clearance from Johnny Koutroumbis kept the score at 1-0.
The second half started horribly for the Jets when the Glory marksman Adam Taggart found space to tuck away his first time shot in the 46th minute.
Perth soon took the lead when a loose ball was pounced upon by Stefan Colakovski who lashed his shot past a helpless Ryan Scott.
The Jets continued to push for an equaliser and almost had one when Lucas Mauragis cut inside from the left to narrowly curl his shot just wide of the goal.
There was late drama at the end as Lucas Mauragis rolled in a pass across goal to find Trent Buhagiar to tuck the ball away and send the Newcastle crowd into delirium.
