The Newcastle Jets will head to Campbelltown Sports Stadium this Saturday the 18th of February to take on the Macarthur Bulls, with kick-off set at 5 pm.
The Jets’ previous match saw an important 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory at home to take a crucial three points. With goals from Beka Mikeltadze and Kosta Grozos to help secure the win.
Newcastle will look to continue their winning streak in this weekend’s clash against Macarthur. A win could push the Jets up to 4th place on the ladder, meanwhile they currently sit in 7th place.
Macarthur is also coming off the back of a win, defeating Wellington 2-1 in their previous match, securing their first win in four matches.
The two sides are extremely close on the ladder, both sitting on 21 points with the goal difference the only gap between the teams. Both sides are equal with six wins, three draws, and seven losses so far this season.
This weekend’s clash will no doubt be a fiery contest, with the two sides pushing to secure a place in the top six.
Their previous match resulted in Macarthur taking the three points with a 2-0 win over the Jets. Newcastle will be looking to redeem themselves against Macarthur and take a win of their own.
In the six previous clashes between the sides, Macarthur has won three, two resulting in draws, and the Jets with one win.
Manabu Saitō made his A-leagues debut off the bench in last week’s clash against Victory. He created a variety of attacking opportunities for his side and will look to do the same this weekend. Thomas Aquilina is another who could feature for the Jets after making his debut against Melbourne Victory last weekend, as is Phillip Cancar who is included in the squad for Saturday’s visit to Macarthur FC.
