Academy: Kicking off NPL NSW Women’s and charging forward in Newcastle

Following the Jets Youth’s big win in the NPL Northern NSW on Thursday night, our Academy sides enjoyed a stellar weekend of results.

Our U/13’s boys side enjoyed the best of the results, winning 6-0 against Charlestown City Blues after leading by five at the half-time break.

Meanwhile, the U/12’s boys continued their solid start to the season with a resounding 3-0 win over the Blues to maintain their place atop the NPL Northern NSW U/13’s ladder.

NPL: Jets Youth soar to opening round win

Things were tighter for our U/14’s side who won 4-2 at Charlestown, while our U/15’s scored a comfortable 3-0 win.

In the senior ranks, the U/16’s boys played the Blues on Saturday afternoon but went down 2-1. Last Thursday night, our U/18’s boys drew 1-1 in their season opener.

Down in Sydney, our Girls teams got their NPL NSW Women’s season underway with two wins and three losses across the four matches.

The young girls were the highlight, with the U/13’s beating out NWS Koalas 2-1 and our U/14’s claiming a 3-1 win. Our U/15’s team were beaten 5-0 by a strong NWS Koalas U/17’s side.

In Reserve Grade, the U/17’s girls were edged out 2-1 while the U/19’s were whacked 5-0 in first grade.

In the NPL Northern NSW next weekend, our senior boys will enjoy a bye weekend while the youth boys take on Adamstown. In the NPL NSW Women’s competition, the girls will play Bankstown.
