A massive comeback from the U/18s boys, another win for our U/14s girls, and clean sheets for the NPL Northern NSW Youth boys.

Here is this week’s Academy wrap.

Boys

It was goals galore at the right end of the pitch for our young boys, who in the Youth competition scored 24 goals and conceded none across four matches.

Jayden Jensen scored twice in the U/12s 4-0 victory, which sees them hold onto top spot on the U/13s ladder.

There were another four goals in the U/13s win over their elder Mid North Coast opposition, while the U/14s boys put six goals on the FMNC U/15s to close the gap between the two sides.

The biggest win of the day went to our U/15s boys though, who scored ten goals in a rout of the FMNC U/16s boys. Those three points see move within two of the competition’s top spot.

Closer to home at Magic Park, three goals from Josh Benson and one Mason Wells kept the U/16s boys within a point of top spot in the U/18s competition.

There was an absolutely resounding comeback from the U/18s boys – down 1-0 at half-time, they came bounding back in the second half to win 8-0.

Despite some early dominance, our U/20s boys couldn’t find three points in the first grade fixture – they went down 5-2 to a strong Broadmeadow side.

Girls

The U/14s were a shining light of a tough day out against Manly United on Sunday, where results were hard to come by.

A goalless stalemate between our U/13s and Manly’s U/14s began the day, before a five-goal thriller ended in a 3-2 victory for the Jets U/14s.

The following two games were tough ones for the Jets, with the U/15s beaten 5-2 by Manly’s U/17s while the Reserves fixture saw our U/17s go down 4-1.

Meanwhile in the first grade fixture, goals either side of half-time saw our U/19s girls fall to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manly.
