With a bumper month of May football behind our Academy kids, the coaching staff have identified two who have stood above the rest.
They both featured in the Greater Bank Academy Team of the Month, where 22 of the best young Jets were picked as standouts throughout May.
The two players who stood out for May were Saffron Grass, from the U/14s girls side and Sam Donnellan from the boys U/18s side.
ACADEMY: April Players of the Month
A key turn in the U/14s side, who play in the NPL NSW Women’s U/15s competition, Saffron Grass has been ultra-consistent throughout 2019.
A defender in the side sitting first on the ladder, Grass played a key role in each of her team’s four wins in the month of May.
Strong on and off the ball, the youngster was identified for both her excellent composure on the ball and her ability to start attacks from either the back or middle third.

The boys U/18s side, who play in the NPL Northern NSW U/20s competition, can boast their second player of the month in as many months with Sam Donnellan chosen for his form throughout May.
A dangerous attacking player, Donnellan has also been earmarked for his consistency and ability to both score and create goals.
With two goals in the month of May, Donnellan’s good form has seen him training with the Club’s U/20s side and he could see gametime in the NPL Northern NSW first grade competition before the season is out.
Greater Bank have come on board as the Academy Player of the Month sponsor, with both Saffron and Sam awarded a $50 Life Saver account for their fantastic efforts in the month of May.
