Ernie Merrick has made one change to his 18-man AFC Champions League squad set to take on Kashima Antlers in Japan on Tuesday night.
With injury set to rule him out for the rest of the Hyundai A-League season, Jason Hoffman has been omitted and won’t travel.
In his place is dynamic attacker, Joey Champness who has recovered from a pesky hamstring injury.
With the rest of the squad avoiding injury and suspension, that straight swap is the only one in the 18-man squad.
The Newcastle Jets are set to take on Kashima Antlers at Kashima Soccer Stadium on Tuesday 19 February. Kick-off is at 9pm AEDT, and the match will be broadcast on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.
