The Newcastle Jets will play their second friendly fixture in Spain tomorrow, as they clash with Saudi Arabian club, Al-Fayha at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre.

The match comes just two days after Ernie Merrick’s side beat the UAE’s Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai FC in their opening game of the tour.

Al-Fayha competes in the Saudi Professional League, having earned promotion to the top tier competition in 2016/17.

They boast a squad that features six visa players, most of which hail from South America.

Jets boss, Ernie Merrick said that Al-Fayha would again prove tough opposition.

“We’ve had a look at them and they’re a quality side who’ve had some success in recent times, winning promotion a couple of years ago,” Merrick said.

“It was a tough game (against Al-Ahli) and it wasn’t our best performance, we created some good chances but lacked that cohesion in midfield.

“There’s no doubt the boys were tired given our intensive training schedule, but that’s what pre-season is all about.

“We’ll be setting up with our senior players, looking ahead to our FFA Cup fixture which we play when arriving back in Australia.”

The Jets clash with Al-Fayha kicks off at 9.30pm (local) 5.30am (2/8 AEST) at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre.
