An early strike by Jason Hoffman followed by a first half brace to striker Mirjan Pavlovic gave the Jets a comfortable cushion throughout the match, despite a goal late in the opening stanza by impressive left-back Marc Warren.
The home side opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Pavlovic headed down for Jason Naidovski who, in turn, squared the ball for Hoffman to slot home with aplomb from 15-yards out.
Newcastle then went on an impressive run when, moments later, Hoffman turned provider, heading an Ali Abbas free kick back across the face of goal for Pavlovic to nod into the empty net from close range.
The competition points were all but assured just after the half-hour mark when a defensive lapse saw Pavlovic pick up a loose ball with only goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas to beat. The raging striker went on to slot the ball under the AIS custodian to give the Jets a commanding and deserved lead.
However, the Jets suffered a momentary slip-up of their own when Marc Warren rose highest to head in directly from a corner right on the stroke of half time to give the visitors a way back into the game heading into the second half.
The scores would remain 3-1 for the remainder of the match though, despite the best efforts of Kamal Ibrahim from AIS who hit a curling strike from just outside the area just midway through the period. Goalkeeper Ben Kennedy pulled off a dramatic diving save to his left to keep the two-goal advantage.
Jason Naidovski, along with substitutes Jesse Pinto and Will Angel, pushed for more goals at the back-end of the half, but were ultimately unlucky not to increase the Jets- three goal tally.
