Congratulations to Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets midfielder Ben Kantarovski who has been named in the Australian under-23s squad for the AFC Asian Qualifiers.
Having already played for both the Australian under-17s and 20s, the 20-year-old Newcastle product is more than qualified to wear the green and gold.
“I am really excited to be part of this squad and I am looking forward to getting into camp and preparing for our upcoming matches,” Kantarovski said.
“Hopefully I can play a part in helping Australia qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.”
Kantarovski is expected to depart from Australia this weekend where he will participate in a pre-match camp in the UAE before heading to Tashkent on February 5 where the young Australian team will face Uzbekistan at JAR Stadium.
Following their game against Uzbekistan, the team will return to camp where they will play a friendly match against the Philippines senior national team before facing the UAE for their second qualification match a week later.
