Jets Academy graduate Max Cooper Signs Scholarship Deal

In another demonstration of the strength of the Jets pathways, the Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce that Max Cooper has signed a multi-year scholarship contract with the club.

The 18-year-old central defender first joined the Jets Academy at eight years old, progressing through the ranks of the Academy before making his debut against Adelaide United in the Australia Cup earlier this year. Since then, Max has played every minute of our Australia Cup campaign, helping the team qualify for the final.

Max previously won the U18s Players Player Award for the 2024 Academy season.

Max is delighted to have signed a deal with the Jets, saying,

“I am very pleased to have signed my first professional contract with the Jets. It’s something that I’ve been striving for since I joined the Club when I was eight years old. I am very excited to see what this season brings.”

Newcastle Jets Head Coach Mark Milligan said,

“Max has shown an understanding of the football we want to play and the Club we want to be from the very beginning. He has great ambition and has shown he has the desire and work ethic to go a long way in this game. We are extremely excited to see Max continue to develop as a footballer and a person.”
