Newcastle Jets dominate at Football NSW gala awards

The Newcastle Jets have dominated at Football New South Wales annual gala dinner.

The Jets took out the FNSW Club Championship While Youth Team Coach Damian Zane took out the FNSW League 2 Men’s Coach of the year award.

Ben van Dorssen claimed the FNSW League 2 Men’s player of the year award while his teammate Zac Bowling picked up the goalkeeper of the year award.

Ruby Jones cleaned up U20/Reserve grade Golden Boot and Player of the year award for the Emerging Jets while William Eick was awarded the FNSW League 2 Men’s U20 player for the year with teammate Kurtis White receiving the Golden Boot award.

Newcastle Jets G M Football, Ken Schembri said.

“Fantastic achievement by our Club at FNSW awards night, winning awards in male and female football.

Well done to all individual award winners.

Recognition and congratulations must go to Damian Zane, Academy Head Coach Men, for our outstanding season which resulted from his leadership, vision and passion.

The platform has been laid by Damian and his staff and all goes well for the Jets in Season 2025 in League One Men’s under his guidance.”
