The Newcastle Jets host Melbourne City this Saturday the 4th of March at No.2 Sportsground, kicking off at 3 pm, in Round 16 of the Liberty A-league.
The Jets’ previous match resulted in a loss against league leaders Western United at home last weekend. Newcastle went down to ten players in the first half with Emily Garnier receiving a red card.
The Jets are currently sitting on 10th place on the ladder with 10 points, with Melbourne City placed third on 25 points.
City’s previous match saw a 2-1 defeat to Western United three weeks ago. In their 13 games played this season, they have won eight, drawn one, and lost four.
The previous meeting between the Jets and City in Round four saw City secure the three points with a 5-1 win over the Jets in Melbourne, with Tara Andrews scoring in the 70th minute for the Jets.
The previous six matches between the teams has seen Melbourne City win five with one resulting in a draw.
With only four matches left of the season, Newcastle will be looking to produce some quality results over the next few weeks, to maximise their points on the ladder.
With Tara Andrews scoring in the previous game against City, she will be looking to grab another against the visitors, she is currently sitting on four goals this season.

Young Matilda’s representative Bryleeh Henry has been strong in attack for her side scoring three goals this season and will be one for Newcastle’s defence to watch this Saturday.
