Two big names in the Newcastle Jets squad could return to action this weekend when the club hosts Melbourne City in Sunday’s Hyundai A-League/Westfield W-League double-header at Hunter Stadium.
Jets defender Nigel Boogaard plus livewire attacker Leonardo have each been included in Scott Miller’s preliminary 18-player squad for the round 10 encounter.
Boogaard has missed the past two matches after being injured against Adelaide United in round seven, while Leonardo didn’t feature last round against Sydney FC due to knee soreness.
But both players are potential inclusions for this Sunday’s home match against John van’t Schip’s inform City side.
All 16 players who were part of the Jets matchday squad last Friday against Sydney FC have been included in this week’s preliminary squad.
