Ruben Zadkovich

A former Newcastle Jets player with almost 100 appearances to his name, Ruben returned to the club early in the 2025/26 season as part of Mark Milligan’s coaching staff.

As a player, Ruben had a 12 year professional career that saw him play for Notts County, Sydney FC, Derby County, Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory. He also played 30 times for Australia across U20 and U23 level, as well as being capped three times for the senior team.

Since retiring in 2016, Ruben spent several years as the Head Coach of Broadmeadow Magic in the Northern NSW NPL, as well as a short stint with Hills United. From there, he returned to Perth Glory to lead their Youth team, before stepping into the first team job. Ruben took the Head Coach role at Brisbane Roar in 2024 after a spell as the interim Head Coach, leaving them at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
