Noah James
Goalkeeper
Noah is a Newcastle local, having come up through our academy ranks into the first team. He has also represented Australia at U17s and U20s level, winning the AFF U16 and U19 Youth Championships in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
/19 Season: Noah spent the 2018/19 season largely as the club’s third choice keeper, although he appeared on the team sheet several times across the then FFA Cup and A-League. Throughout this period, he featured heavily for the Youth team in the Northern NSW NPL.
/20 Season: Noah made his first team debut in the final game of the season, keeping a clean sheet as the team romped to a 3-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix.
/21 Season: Noah signed a three year extension at the beginning of the season, before being loaned to the Western Sydney Wanderers. He was largely a backup during his season at the Wanderers, although he did feature for their youth team in the NSW NPL 2.
/22 Season:Â After returning from his loan spell at the Wanderers, Noah departed for another stint on loan, this time to Dandenong Thunder in the NPL Victoria. He featured in 25 out of 26 league games, helping the Thunder to an 8th place finish.
/23 Season: Fresh from his stint in Victoria, Noah returned to the A-League fold as the third-choice goalkeeper, appearing twice on the bench in the A-League. He played regularly for the Youth team in the FNSW League Two, making 23 appearances.
/24 Season:Â Noah featured on the bench in three first-team fixtures, before being loaned to Sydney Olympic for the 2024 NSW NPL season, where he played alongside several former Jets, including Roy O’Donovan. Across his 21 appearances for Olympic, he kept 5 clean sheets.
/25 Season: Noah came into the season as second-choice, behind Ryan Scott. He was on the bench for the first 17 rounds of the A-League season, before finally cracking into the starting team for the round 18 fixture against Melbourne Victory. Noah kept a clean sheet as they defeated Melbourne Victory 3-0 at home. He started in the following six fixtures, keeping a clean sheet in a man of the match display in a 1-0 away win over Melbourne City. He was set to start again against Wellington in round 25, before suffering a concussion in the warm-up which forced him out of the squad for the next two matches. He returned to the squad, albeit on the bench for the final three games of the season. He made seven appearances, keeping two clean sheets.
/26 Season: Noah suffered a knee injury during pre-season, which would subsequently sideline him for the majority of the season.
