M. Ayres

Melina Ayres has racked up 97 A-League appearances across two spells with the Jets, as well as stints with both Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory. She has scored 36 goals in that time. Melina has also won three A-League Women’s Grand Finals. One with Melbourne City, two with Melbourne Victory. Away from the A-League, Melina has scored over 100 goals at NPL Vic level, playing for Alamein FC and South Melbourne. She has also played for Charlestown Azzurri in the Northern NSW NPL, where she scored the winning goal in the 2025 Grand Final. Melina also spent a short spell on loan at Breiðablik in Iceland. She has also represented Australia at both U16 and U20 level.

‘Mel’ first signed for the Jets ahead of the 2023/24 A-League season, where she became an instant fan favourite after scoring the winning goal in the F3 Derby on debut. She finished her debut season as the teams second-top scorer, as well as helping the Jets qualify for the A-League semi-finals. Melina took a break from professional football during the 2024/25 season, before returning for the 2025/26 season, playing a full game in the season opener against Canberra United.
