Lachlan Bayliss

Lachlan Bayliss signed for the Newcastle Jets ahead of the 2023/24 A-League season from the Central Coast Mariners Youth Team. A hard-working midfielder with an eye for goal, Lachlan had several stand-out seasons for the Coast in the NPL, before jumping across to the better side of the F3.

2023/24 Season

Lachlan debuted for the Club in the Australia Cup, coming off of the bench to help the team defeat Melbourne Victory on penalties to qualify for the 2023 Australia Cup Round of 32. After an injury-impacted first season, in which Lachlan was also called up to represent New Zealand at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, he signed a two-year extension with the Club. Lachlan finished his first season with 13 appearances across both the A-League and Australia Cup.

2024/25 Season

His second season came with more consistent game-time, as he played 27 games across the A-League and Australia Cup. He also scored his first goal for the Jets, a stunning curling strike against Perth Glory, which won the goal of the week for Round 8.

2025/26 Season

Lachlan found form in his third season, helping the Club to their second ever piece of silverware, as they defeated Heidelberg United 3-1 to lift the 2025 Australia Cup. Lachlan started two of the Clubs five games, also appearing off of the bench in two more en-route to winning the Cup. Bayliss hit a hot-streak of form across January and February, as he scored five and assisted two across a five game spell, helping the Club to a record of eight consecutive wins.
