Biography
Joe Shaughnessy signed a two-year deal with the club ahead of the 2025/26 A-League season. The central defender joined the club from Dundee F.C, where he was the club captain.
Joe’s career started in Aberdeen, where he played over 50 times whilst also experiencing two separate loan spells at Forfar Athletic and Falkirk. From Aberdeen, he moved to St Johnstone, playing over 150 times for the club. A season followed at Southend United, before a three year spell with St Mirren. From there, he made the move to Dundee F.C. Joe has previously represented the Republic of Ireland at U19 and U21 level, being capped seven times across the two age groups.
2025/26 Season
Shaughnessy signed for the Jets ahead of the 2025/26 season. He would feature on the bench once, against Avondale FC, through the club’s successful Australia Cup run, before finally debuting in Round two during a 5-2 win over Melbourne Victory. Joe scored his first goal for the Club away to Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 13, helping the Club to a 2-1 win.
