Daniel Wilmering

Daniel Wilmering came up through the Western Sydney academy, before becoming a member of their first team. After more than 30 appearances across four years, he made the switch to Newcastle, where he has since established himself as a key member in our A-League Men’s Squad.

2023/24 Season

Daniel Wilmering signed ahead of the 2023/24 season alongside Clayton Taylor. During his first season, he played across the left flank at both left-wing and left-back, registering two assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.

2024/25 Season

Daniel was able to establish himself as a regular starter for the Club throughout the 2o24/25 season, starting 26 of his 29 appearances. He scored his first goal for the Club in a 6-0 drubbing of the Central Coast Mariners. At the end of the season, he was rewarded with a two-year contact extension.

2025/26 Season

Daniel was a key player in the Clubs successful 2025 Australia Cup campaign, scoring two long-range stunners against Cooks Hill in the Round of 16, before registering an assist in both the quarter-final and semi-final against Macarthur and Avondale. Wilmering made several key contributions across the 2025/26 A-League season, playing and starting 17 of the first 19 games, also providing six assists.
