Clayton Taylor

A dynamic and exciting winger, Clayton Taylor signed for the Newcastle Jets ahead of the 2023/24 season after impressing for the Sydney FC Youth Team.

2023/24 Season:

Clayton made a quick impression on Jets fans, scoring in his second game for the Club as the Jets lost 3-2 to Brisbane Roar in the Australia Cup Round of 32. Taylor scored a brace against Melbourne Victory in his second A-League game, instantly confirming him as a fan favourite. Clayton would finish his first season in professional football with eight goals and four assists in 27 games across all competitions. He also earned his first call-up to the Australian U23s side in the following off-season. He also won the Rising Star award for the Club, given to the best young player in the A-League squad.

2024/25 Season:

Clayton continued to build on his impressive debut season, as he featured in all 29 games the Club played that season, scoring seven goals and assisting six. This includes a standout performance against the Central Coast Mariners, scoring one and assisting two as the Club equalled the biggest ever winning margin in the F3 Derby, winning 6-0. Clayton also earned himself another call-up to the Australian U23s National team.

2025/26 Season:

Following a surgery in the off-season, Clayton missed the entirety of the Clubs successful 2025 Australia Cup campaign, as well as the opening three rounds of the A-League campaign. Once he made his way back into the team, Clayton jumped to another level, scoring seven goals by mid-February, including his first ever professional hattrick in a 3-2 victory over Adelaide United.
