The Jets took time out to visit young fans at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital in the lead up to Christmas.
Angelo Costanzo, Donny de Groot and Jobe Wheelhouse all took time out of their hectic schedules this afternoon to pay a visit to their young admirers currently spending time in the John Hunter Children-s Hospital.
The Jets signed autographs, had photos taken and played video games with the youngsters as they aimed to give the gift of happiness leading into Christmas.
Dutchman de Groot today said that he was only too happy to give back to those in need in the community.
“Yeah, absolutely, especially when the kids are in hospital you can make the day of these children who are unfortunately sick. Hopefully they talk about it longer than today but it-s always good to make children happy.”
“Especially with Christmas coming up, these children aren-t going through the easiest moment of their life, so every little thing that you can do to make them feel a little better is a good thing. It-s not a problem at all and it-s nice to do,” he said.
The Jets are also in-form on the pitch at the moment, winning back-to-back matches for the first time this season over the past fortnight. The team will now return home to take on Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury at EnergyAustralia Stadium on the 13th and 20th of this month respectively.
“We-ve beaten the Gold Coast once at home so hopefully this weekend will be the second time this year. We hope for a lot of support from all of the fans because we need that right now,” said the 30-year-old striker.
