Nigel Boogaard made his ‘So There!’ debut on Sunday, answering five questions with reporter Finlay Doyle for NBN’s locally produced children’s show.
The Jets defender faced questions from budding young journalist Finlay as she quizzed him on how he got started playing football and who the toughest opponent he has faced in the Hyundai A-League is.
“My father has always been involved in football so as soon as I could walk I started kicking a ball,” Boogaard told ‘So There!’.
“I’m loving being back [in Newcastle], I grew up here and to be in Newcastle around friends and family and playing for my home town is definitely an honour.”
“Over the years I’d say Archie Thompson is the toughest opponent I’ve had to face. He’s also a little bit cheeky on the field so it’s fun to play against him”.
Finlay also managed to get Boogaard to give a prediction on who will win the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.
