Gary van Egmond says he will continue to push the Jets hard and harder as the season goes on.
As the Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets enter week 20 of the A-League competition, coach Gary van Egmond says that the team won-t be slowing down anytime soon and he will continue to push them harder and harder on the training pitch.
“Our conditioning sessions increase in intensity as the season goes along and as we get close to the end of the season they will be our hardest,” van Egmond explained.
“We don-t have any fatigue issues, we manage the sessions very well as far as time is concerned, we don-t do any double field sessions and are seeing the benefits of that with the way the boys are and as far as their condition is concerned and in regards to injuries.”
The Jets will be hoping all this hard work will pay off for them when they come up against Adelaide United on Friday night at Hunter Stadium.
“It is a very critical game, we have five games left to go and seeing we are at home it is important that we get maximum points,” the coach said.
“Adelaide are underneath us on the ladder and this is probably their last hurrah if they want to try and stay in touch with the six this year so we know we are going to come up against a desperate team.
“We are always looking to keep on getting better and our performance last week was disappointing when compared to how we have been playing with the three wins on the belt but the boys have trained really well this week and hopefully we can do well back at home.
