Ernie Merrick has named a 16-man squad for Saturday afternoon’s friendly clash with Edgeworth Eagles.
With our NPL Northern NSW side taking on Lambton Jaffas at the same time, a number of youngsters will be plying their trade for the youth team over at Arthur Edden Oval.
That means players like Jack Simmons, Noah James, and Maki Petratos will not feature in the friendly fixture on Saturday.
James’ absence, combined with Lewis Italiano’s loan spell at NPL WA club Balcatta FC, means that young goalkeeper Keegan Hughes will deputise for Glen Moss.
Nigel Boogaard will miss out as he continues his pre-season preparations, while Abdiel Arroyo is awaiting medical clearance before he can be thrown into the mix.
It will be the first opportunity for Jets fans to see new signings, Matt Millar and Nick Fitzgerald in action, who are each set to play a part on Saturday afternoon.
The game will consist of two 40-minute halves, with drinks break at the halfway point in each.
