Newcastle Jets boss Mark Jones has today named a preliminary 17-player squad for Sunday’s crunch F3 Derby clash against Central Coast Mariners at McDonald Jones Stadium.
A big inclusion for the Jets this week could be the versatile Ben Kantarovski who could make a return to action in the regional rivalry.
Former Chinese youth international Ma Leilei may also make his Hyundai A-League bow after he netted an impressive goal in the Club’s 4-3 FOXTEL National Youth League win over Western Sydney Wanderers Youth last weekend.
Youth team custodian Pierce Clark takes the place of Jim Fogarty on the bench behind Jack Duncan, while skipper Nigel Boogaard drops out of the squad that faced Melbourne City last weekend due to injury.
Jones will address media regarding Sunday’s F3 Derby on Friday.
