Skenderovic appointed Head of Football Operations

The Newcastle Jets today have confirmed the first major change in the review of their football structure for the coming season. Huss Skenderovic has been confirmed as the Head of Football Operations for the Club.

Huss will be ultimately responsible for all aspects of A-League Men, A-League Women and Academy operations including A-League Men’s team management, Men’s player contracting to Academy development, structure, coaching education, staffing & facilities, and the Women’s team support.

Huss joined the Club at the beginning of last season and has been a key member of the Men’s 1st team structure.

Newcastle Jets Executive Chairman Shane Mattiske said the appointment of Huss is a strong step moving forward for the direction of the Club.

“The appointment of Huss to take overarching responsibility across our Men’s, Women’s and Academy football operations is a key element in creating a structure for this Club that will guide our success.

A critical focus has been to make sure there is clear alignment between all our Men’s, Women’s and Academy football teams.

Huss has a great depth of experience built in elite football systems both here and internationally and importantly he’s demonstrated his ability to create successful high-performance systems and to forge strong relationships.

This appointment is a key step in building a far stronger and connected Football Club and we look forward to confirming further appointments as part of our structure for the coming season.

Skenderovic is excited about the opportunity and admits he can’t wait to get started.

“I’m wonderfully delighted to be given this great opportunity in building a new phase with the Jets, whilst serving the local football community with passionate support and a vision that will enable the Jets to achieve world’s best practices.”
