Newcastle Jets star striker Ryan Griffiths is looking forward to the fresh start the 2011/12 A-League season is set to offer.
After a stint in the Chinese Super League, Griffiths made the difficult transition back to Australia late last year where his attacking prowess has been welcomed by the Jets.
“Straight away the boys made me feel at home, they have made my time here very enjoyable,” Griffiths said.
A five time Socceroo Griffiths spent his early Football years representing Newcastle United before making his way overseas.
Undergoing surgery on his shoulder last week to remove a pin from a previous injury, Griffiths is already back in training and is confident it will not be long until he is fully recovered.
“I am looking forward to a quick recovery and already feel really good.”
With the A-League draw now officially released the Jets will continue to put in the hard yards at training as they prepare for what is set to be a big season for this talented team.
“I am happy with the draw,
“We have a number of away games early on in the season which is beneficial to our team because it gives us a good run home.”
The Jets will take on Hamilton Olympic 7.00pm Wednesday 8 June at Darling St Oval Hamilton as part of their Pre-season fixture.
