Clayton Zane’s Newcastle Jets Youth side continued their march up the 2016 PS4 National Premier League (Northern NSW) standings on Sunday after recording a comprehensive 4-0 win over Charlestown City Blues.
The junior Jets dominated proceedings at Lisle Carr Oval, and went to the sheds at half time 2-0 up thanks to strikes by Kristian Brymora and Cameron Joice.
Zane’s charges notched another two goals after the break – Brymora securing his brace and Charles Horsley adding extra polish to a solid Jets Youth display to round out the scoring.
After a tricky start to their local campaign in terms of results, the junior Jets have found form over the past month or so, registering three wins and a draw from their last four competitive fixtures.
The team’s strong form in the PS4 NPL NNSW is in addition to the side’s impressive 5-0 win in an international friendly match against Shandong Luneng U19 from China in mid June.
Jets Youth’s next match will be a tough test at Jack McLaughlan Oval against Edgeworth Eagles next Sunday 3 July, with kick-off at 2:30pm and lower grades played beforehand.
