Newcastle Jets travelled to Queensland on Friday ahead of the club’s Hyundai A-League 2015/16 pre-season friendly against Brisbane Roar on Saturday 12 September.
Jets boss Scott Miller has taken a 16-man squad north to challenge the Roar at the home of Redlands United FC, Cleveland Showground on Waterloo Street, this weekend.
Having arrived in Australia just seven days ago, Brazilian number 10 Leonardo Vitor Santiago has ventured to the Sunshine State for his first trip away with his new teammates.
Leonardo may get his first match minutes at a Jet against Brisbane as the coaching staff bid to speedily integrate him into the team.
20-year-old Jets defensive recruit Lachlan Jackson has also travelled with the squad – Jackson signed with Newcastle from Brisbane in mid-July and will undoubtedly enjoy the opportunity to venture back to his old club with his new club.
Kick off against Brisbane Roar on Saturday is at 2:00pm, while admission to the fixture is free.
