The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce the signing of centre-back Mia Green on a scholarship deal.
18-year-old Green joins the Club from Queensland NPL side Brisbane City where she featured regularly as her side won both the Premiership and Grand Final.
Green is excited to begin her A-League journey at the Jets.
“I am super excited to play my first A-League season with the Jets. I love everything about this place so far. From the culture to the people and environment. I know I’m going to have a lot of fun and success here.”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Ryan Campbell said.
“Mia is a player that is mature beyond her young age. She shows lots of the characteristics you are looking for in a central defender and I am excited for her to have the opportunity to show these in her first professional contract.
Making the move from Brisbane is a big step but something that I not only think she is capable of but something that she can excel with.”
