The Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the signing of American forward Gia Vicari for the 2024/25 Ninja A-League season.
Vicari who plays as a forward joins the Club from Danish side Odense Boldklub Q of the Kvinde-DM Liga. Vicari has also previously played for American University side Rutgers.
The American is determined to make an immediate impact at the Jets.
“I’m super excited to be here in Australia with the Jets! I’m grateful for the opportunity to play in the A-League and represent Newcastle. The entire staff and team have been really welcoming and I’m looking forward to the season, doing what I can do to help the team succeed.”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Ryan Campbell said.
“I’m thrilled to be able to bring in a player of Gia’s quality to our squad. She has a strong eye for goal and has great experience playing abroad and will add to our attacking stocks.
I’m looking forward to seeing her make an impact on this team. She possesses a range of attributes that match our style of play and is clinical in front of goal.”
