As previously advised, this Sunday’s match against the Melbourne Heart has been transferred from EnergyAustralia Stadium due to the unfit state of the pitch.
On a positive note, work to upgrade the surface is about to commence and we have received assurances that the ground will be available for our scheduled home match against Adelaide United on Saturday 13th November.
Our attitude at the Jets is to look forward in a positive manner and not dwell on past problems or impediments.
This Sunday’s match against Melbourne Heart has been transferred to Port Regional Stadium in Port Macquarie with a 4pm kick off.
We are aware that this creates a major inconvenience but this outcome has been forced upon us by events outside of our control.
To connect with our development region in Northern NSW, we are inviting everyone to the game free of charge. Yes, adults and children have free entry into Sunday’s match.
In recognition of the support from our loyal members (Season Ticket Holders), we have commissioned ten buses to take our members and corporate partners free to the game.
In addition, the ground has a grandstand area that accommodates almost 1000 people. We have reserved this for members and you are asked to bring your membership card so that you can gain access to this area on a first in basis (you must show your membership pass to gain entry to the grandstand).
To book your free position on one of the buses, please send an email to Andrew@newcastlejets.com.au with your full name and membership number. We will confirm acceptance by return email with information pertaining to Bus number, time of departure, departure location, return time and expected arrival time. Please note that all buses will leave from midday and will depart Port Macquarie at 6.30pm. Seats on the free bus to Port Macquarie MUST be pre-booked.
We also remind you that we have booked four coaches for next weeks match against Sydney FC on Sunday 7th November for exclusive use by members. To book your free seat on this bus, please contact Port Stephens Coaches on 49822940 stating your name and membership number. Please note that there are limited number of seats so you will need to book early. The cost of admission into the Sydney Football Stadium is not included in this offer.
We would also like to confirm that we will soon announce a special members only barbecue with all the Newcastle Jets players and coaching staff. We will confirm all the details next week.
Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience but we are sure you understand the difficulties that have confronted us. As a member, like us we are sure you are excited about the changes we are making at the club. While there are some temporary setbacks, the vision for the club is all inclusive and we know that we are building a great club of which you as a member can be proud.
