It was a disappointing afternoon for our Jets as they travelled to Brisbane to take on the Roar, but ended up without any points.
The first half was a cagey affair as both sides looked to assert their dominance in possession, however neither made any clear-cut chances.
The second half saw things come alive with the Jets receiving the first of the chances through Jason Hoffman. After a corner fell perfectly for him at the back post, his shot cannoned into Jay O’Shea’s, defending on the line. However, on review it was deemed that Hoffman handled the ball prior to his shot.
The major moment of the second half came with ten minutes to go when Lucas Mauragis received his marching orders after picking up a second yellow card. Minutes later, the Roar found their breakthrough with a Henry Hore goal, before Luke Ivanovic finished off the game in stoppage time with a second goal.
Our side now return home to take on Perth Glory next Sunday night.

71′ Some nice dribbling by Yuel ends with a lay-off to Ingham, however his shot is blocked and comes to nothing.
67′ Mauragis fouls out wide and receives his first yellow.
61′ A nice play sees Mauragis streaming down the outside. He finds Arques in the midfield who attempts to slot Mikeltadze in on goal, but his pass is just too heavy.
58′ O’Shea tries his luck from long with a powering left-footed shot. But it flies past the upright even though it looked like Duncan had it covered.
54′ Brisbane hit the post through a thunderous shot from Daley. Thankfully it bounces away to safety.
51′ Instead the free-kick goes against us with Hoffman being ruled to have handled the ball first.
50′ We’ve appealed for a handball after a corner kick comes in. Hoffman struck the ball from close range and looks as if it may have been stopped by O’Shea on the line with his arm. VAR to review.
46′ Second half gets underway with Yuel coming on for Siatravanis.
45′ Brisbane swing in a dangerous pass into the box looking for Dehmie, but it’s just that little bit too far ahead.
41′ Siatravanis also receives a yellow after fouling Roar out wide.
40′ Roar have a penalty shout but the referee waves it away.
35′ Early sub as Murnane comes off for Mauragis.
32′ Brisbane find a way down our right side. The cross the ball in low which is initially blocked, but there is a follow-up shot that troubles our defenders. Luckily it’s deflected away.
31′ Thurgate gets at the defence and has options to play forward, but he takes too long with the ball and is dispossessed just outside the opposition box.
28′ For one of the first times this season, our opponent has got the majority of possession. Roar with 52%.
25′ Murnane is the first Jets player in the ref’s book today after getting a yellow.
24′ A little dinked pass by Roar poses a big danger, but Hore’s shot hits the side netting.

21′ A Brisbane man goes down in the box on the corner, but there’s nothing in it and our Jets clear their lines.
20′ Hore from Roar takes a shot from just outside the box and it wizzles past the post. Took a deflection though, so corner to come.
18′ Roar again deliver a dangerous aerial pass into the box, but our defence deals with it. Brisbane seeming to have the upper hand at the moment in momentum.
16′ Brisbane whip in a corner and it finds a head, but it flies wide and high over the bar.
10′ Both teams feeling each other out in the first opening minutes. A rather cagey affair so far.

6′ Murnane takes a free-kick from the edge of the box, but his cross is very high and disappointing.
3′ We look like we might have found a way through the Brisbane defence, but the ref has called it back for a foul by Mikeltadze.
