Jets and Western United share spoils in hard-fought contest

It was a cagey encounter between our side and our high-flying opponents Western United that ended in a 1-1 draw in our final home game for the 2021/22 season.

Our side dominated the opening minutes of the encounter before Western United took the lead against the run of play midway through the half and had us trailing 1-0 at the break.

We came out firing in the 2nd half and found the equaliser through stand-in captain Jordan Elsey, who nodded home a corner in the 52nd minute to level the scores.

Our side pushed for a late winner and came close on several occasions but couldn’t find the finishing touch to secure victory.

Our focus turns to the F3 Derby on Saturday for our final game of the season.
