After a scoreless first half, the Newcastle Jets went down to the Central Coast Mariners 2-1, despite a late flurry almost seeing the scores level at MacDonald Jones Stadium.
Goals in quick sucession from the visitors just after the break ended up proving the difference despite a late fight back led by Valentino Yuel’s goal late in the second half.
The Jets will now turn their attention to the Western Sydney Wanderers away, next Sunday.
