An Oscar Fryer Goal and Jordan Baylis penalty save helped to secure a 1-1 draw against the Western Sydney Wanderers at Wanderers Football Park.
The Jets played an entirely different team each half, aside from keeper Jordan Baylis, who played the full 90 minutes.
The Wanderers opened the scoring early in the match, with veteran Kosta Barbarouses notching the goal. The Wanderers swung in a set-piece, which was only partially cleared. Baylis was able to save the initial shot but Barbarouses was there to tap in the rebound.
It looked like the Wanderers would grab a second when they were awarded a penalty, but Jordan Baylis was able to step up massively and save the attempt from Barbarouses. Baylis dove at full stretch to his left, punching the effort away from goal.

Right on the stroke of half-time, a good passage of play led to a ball being cut across the box, which was finished with authority by Oscar Fryer, fresh off making his professional debut against Cooks Hill in the Australia Cup.

When asked about the game at full-time, Head Coach Mark Milligan had this to say:
“Today was important for us as well, conditioning day, another chance to play some A-League opposition. Again, get that exposure to some boys that haven’t had a great deal of experience at that level. So overall, very positive performance. A lot of good things we can take (from it) and a few good learnings for the players as well.”
“(The performances) were very good. A lot of valuable minutes for the boys, Joe (Shaughnessy) as well, who is still finding his feet and getting into the swing of things. It’s very very important to get those minutes against quality opposition into the players.”
