Birightiit made his Socceroos debut during that off-season, before having another solid year between the sticks for the Jets in 2013/14. His performances for Newcastle saw him named in the Socceroos’ 30-man preliminary squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. A promising goalkeeper with all the athleticism and physical attributes required to compete at the highest level, Birighitti has also represented the Australian under 17’s, under 20’s and under 23’s.
