The 20-year-old had a scan over the weekend that revealed a small meniscus tear in his right knee.
Jets head coach Gary van Egmond indicated that it is likely Kantarovski will have an arthroscope to clean up the tear in his meniscus.
“It looks like Kanta is going to have a similar clean-up what Ben Kennedy has had,” van Egmond said.
‘‘He sees our doctor Neil Halpin today and we are anticipating he will need a clean-up of the meniscus and be out for a spell.
‘‘He has fluid on the knee and it is not subsiding and it is moving down his leg.
‘‘We need to get to the bottom of that, especially with someone at such a young age.
‘‘He has had some issues with that knee so we have to get it right.–
Meanwhile, Dominik Ritter is likely to be fit for selection for this Saturday-s match against Western Sydney Wanderers after missing the Round 5 game against Perth with a quadriceps injury.
‘‘He was so close against Perth,– van Egmond said.
‘‘We just felt if we did play him and he wasn-t confident in his own mind, if he hurt it that it could be a four-weeker.
‘‘It was better for him to miss one week rather than four.–
Craig Goodwin suffered a cork in his shin during the match against Perth and while he did not complete a full training session on Monday, he is not in doubt for Saturday’s match against the Wanderers.
