Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the signing of Cameroon international Olivier Boumal.
The Cameroonian born attacker joins the Jets on a one-year-deal.
Boumal has played in central and wide attacking roles in a career which has seen him ply his trade in the Greek Super League for Panathinaikos and Panionios, Chinese Super League side Liaoning FC and J.League side Yokohama F. Marinos.
He most recently played in the Crystalbet Erovnuli Liga in Georgia with Saburtalo.
“For the Newcastle supporters I would like to start off by telling them how honoured I am to be part of this great family and I hope that together we will help the club rise to the top,” Boumal said.

“I am a pure left footed player, a fast and explosive dribbler.
“I chose Newcastle because the style of play that the coach offers is the one that suits me best, having already been through Yokohama where the same football is played, it made things easier and my decision too.
“The boss is a great lover of beautiful football and I believe that this season, Newcastle will have a word to say in the championship.”
According to Manager Arthur Papas, the 31-year-old will bring a wealth of experience to the Club and a point of difference in the front third.
“Olivier brings pace, creativity and flair to the team. He is able to play anywhere across the front line and capable of producing match winning moments. We are excited to welcome him to the Jets.”
Boumal has represented Cameroon on six occasions.
