The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets enjoyed a few days of recovery and relaxation on the NSW North Coast over the weekend.
The team spent two nights at Tallwoods Village, a residential golf village in the Great Lakes District, situated 18 kilometres north of Forster.
After arriving on Saturday evening, the entire Jets squad played golf on Sunday morning as a recovery session following their intra-club trial match the day before.
Monday morning saw some members of the squad work their way through another 18 holes at Tallwoods, while the remainder went fishing off the Forster coastline.
Head coach Gary van Egmond said the time away was extremely beneficial for the whole squad.
“It has been quite a long pre-season, so it was good for the boys to have an opportunity to go away to a place where they are able to take their minds off football,” van Egmond said.
“It-s also very beneficial for the squad to also have a chance to get to know one another a bit better away from the football field and create that harmony within the group.
“We-d like to thank everyone at Tallwoods for their hospitality. The entire Newcastle Jets squad and staff thoroughly enjoyed their stay.”
