Allison Lipsher and Niki Cross arrived in Newcastle on Monday and have no regrets leaving behind an offseason training schedule that included indoor training to escape the snow and freezing temperatures outside.
‘Being able to play here in Australia in the warm sun is much better than winter back home,- Niki Cross said. ‘ Training indoors isn-t much fun. I-ve been getting bit of a ribbing from my friends and teammates back home about chasing the sun but I think they are just jealous.-
Also looking forward to the stint in Newcastle is Hawaiian born Alli Lipsher.
‘The big attraction is the great weather here after growing up in Hawaii,- Lipsher said. ‘I-m so happy I-m not in the cold back home or in Europe or somewhere right now.-
The girls are eager to settle into their summer ahead with Alli offering to help Niki with surfing lessons.
‘We were up at Nobby-s Beach yesterday and it was so good, so we are eager to get in the water and I-m going to teach Niki how to surf,- Lipsher said.
The pair were last seen heading in the direction of Mark Richards Surf Shop in Newcastle-s west end.
