Jets pass 11,000 Members

The Newcastle Jets have surpassed the Club’s Membership goal of 11,000 Members for the 2012/13 A-League season.

The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets is pleased to announce they have surpassed the Club-s Membership goal of 11,000 Members for the 2012/13 A-League season.

The current tally of 11,007 eclipses the Newcastle Jets- previous record of 10,228 Members set during the 2011/12 season.

For the second year running, the Newcastle Jets have the second highest Membership base in the A-League, behind only the Melbourne Victory. The figure also mean the Jets have more Members than many National Rugby League Clubs.

Jets captain Jobe Wheelhouse thanked all those who have come on board as Jets Members this season.

“Membership is crucial to the success of any football Club and to have reached 11,000 Members is a pretty phenomenal effort and a testament to the passion and loyalty of the Hunter community,” he said.

“It was great to see so many Members in their caps and scarves at our first match this season and hopefully we can play in front of crowds like that every game at Hunter Stadium this year.

“Knowing we have that kind of support in the stands at home matches gives all of us players a lift.

“Our Members and supporters are our 12th man and they always have been over the years, so it-s an honour to lead the boys out in front of them.”

The Newcastle Jets hope to one day build the biggest Membership base in the A-League and membership packages for the 2012/13 season are still available.
