The Newcastle Jets can confirm the departure of several players at the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign.
Newcastle Jets Captain Nigel Boogaard announced on Friday he will hang up his boots after enjoying an incredible 16-year career in the A-League.
Roy O’Donovan also departs the club after notching up 66 appearances for the Jets across two successful stints, which included the famous Grand Final run of 17/18.
He leaves Newcastle as the second leading goal scorer of all time with 32 goals.
Another veteran, Ali Abbas started his A-League career with the Club and leaves with 66 Jets games to his name.
After two strong seasons with the Club, Matt Millar also departs.
A product of the Jets academy, Jack Simmons will also exit the Club.
He made his A-league debut against the Brisbane Roar in 2018.
Our loan players also return to their respective teams, with Luka Pršo (NK Osijek), Ramy Najjarine (Melbourne City), Liridon Krasniqi and Syahrian Abimanyu (Johor Darul Ta’zim) departing Newcastle.
The Club thanks them for their service and wishes them all the best for the future.
