The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets will face Sydney FC in a pre-season trial match at WIN Stadium in Wollongong on Saturday, September 14.
With the match scheduled to take place less than a month out from the start of the 2013/14 A-League season, both Clubs are expected to field strong sides for the clash.
Jets CEO Robbie Middleby said the fixture would form a key part of the Jets- build up to Round 1.
“It-s great to have another trial match locked-in against A-League opposition and we-re looking forward to heading down to Wollongong for this game,” Middleby said.
“It will be a good chance for both sides to get a measure of where we-re at and what we can work on before the season starts.”
The Jets will also face the Sky Blues in the A-League season opener at Allianz Stadium on Friday, October 11. The match will be the first ever A-League fixture broadcast on free-to-air television by SBS.
