Find out how your club can join in Hyundai’s latest football program.
Maitland Junior Football club accepted a cheque from Hyundai Motor Company Australia, after being selected by the Newcastle Jets as the recipient of the Hyundai-s ‘Goals for Grassroots- program.
Already a proud supporter and sponsor of the Socceroos and naming rights sponsor of the Hyundai A-League, Hyundai is committed to investing in grassroots football within local communities around Australia through its ‘Goals for Grassroots- program.
For Round 1 of the ‘Goals for Grassroots- program, the Newcastle Jets nominated Maitland Junior Football Club. The Newcastle Jets scored one goal in their 1-1 draw with the Central Coast Mariners on the weekend, Maitland Junior Football Club received a $2,000 donation from Hyundai.
“It-s fantastic to see a company like Hyundai getting behind grassroots football in our area. Their support for the game on this level is very encouraging for all involved with football,” said Evelyn Stonham of the Maitland Junior Football Club.
Jade North, defender for the Newcastle Jets said, “These kids are part of the future for football in Newcastle and surrounding areas and the Hyundai Goals for Grassroots program is a great way to ensure that that future is being looked after”.
One home game per round of the 2008/09 Hyundai A-League has been selected to be part of the program.
To be considered for a donation ahead of each home match, local grassroots clubs should complete an application on-line at www.ilovefootball.com.au and submit why their local grassroots club should receive support.
Grassroots clubs selected will benefit from an initial $1,000 donation from Hyundai Motor Company Australia, and in addition, an extra $1,000 per goal scored by the home team that nominated them (up to $5,000 total).
To be eligible to enter, the local grassroots clubs must have an association affiliated to the Football Federation Australia.
