Well we are just one day away from our season kicking off and I can assure you the team are counting down the days just like you.

Hi to all our Members and supporters

Well we are just one day away from our season kicking off and I can assure you the team have been counting down the days just like you.

The squad are looking forward to running out onto Ausgrid Stadium on Saturday afternoon after this extra long pre-season and it is a huge boost they get to play in front of their home crowd for Round 1.

This week has been more difficult than most, as I am sure you can all appreciate. We are fortunate to have great people in our organisation working behind the scenes so the team can remain focused on their game against Melbourne Heart.

Following the events earlier this week Craig Deans is preparing our team for Saturday-s game. Craig is our Youth Team Coach and will continue working with the A-League team until we find our new Head Coach. He is well regarded and respected by the team and he has our full confidence in this interim period.

During the week we surpassed the 9,000 member mark, this is an incredible achievement and I thank everyone for their support of the Jets.

This week our Jets’ W-League team signed German International Ariane Hingst. She joins Melissa Barbieri, Lisa De Vanna and other current Matildas in what is shaping up to be a very strong W-League team.

Ariane’s experience will greatly benefit the defensive abilities of the team. Whilst we need to work through her visa, she will join the team as they continue to prepare for their first game on Saturday October 29.

This week the Hunter Sports Group also welcomed the arrival of our Dietician Peta Carige. Peta has a wealth of experience in the sports industry and will be a huge asset to both the Jets and the Knights.

Our brand new Jets website is now live so I hope you have had a chance to take a look at it. This has been quite a long changeover process and we have appreciated your patience throughout. We think our new platform will allow us to better communicate with our Members and fans.

Saturday’s game against the Heart at Ausgrid Stadium is set to be an entertaining game of football. I hope to see you there.
