The Jets Members and supporters have welcomed Michael Bridges back with open arms.

After a nerve-racking wait on the bench, Michael Bridges made his long awaited return to the A-League in the 84th minute of the Jets home game against Victory on Saturday night.

Since announcing his signing last month, the Jets Members and supporters have welcomed the former Leeds striker back with open arms.

“It was an amazing feeling on Saturday night and I was quite overwhelmed by the fantastic reception I received,” Bridges said.

“I had a lump in my throat and goose bumps before running out but seeing the crowds reaction and coming out for a winning team made it a lot easier and I loved every minute of it.”

Bridges got his spot on the bench after Francis Jeffers was ruled out but returns from injury this week. Bridges is just happy to play whatever role the coach asks of him.

“Everyone here wants to play so I am happy to play whatever part the Club will let me,” the 33-year-old added.

“It is a long season and I have to keep knocking on Gary-s (van Egmond) door and we will have to wait and see what happens.”
