The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce that Richard Nkomo has signed a scholarship deal with the club for the 2025/2026 Season.
The 18-year-old left back signs from the Western Sydney Wanderers, where he spent the
last year playing for their Youth team. Richard is an Australian Youth International, having
represented the nation at both U17 and U18 level.
Nkomo said,
“I’m extremely grateful to sign for the Newcastle Jets. I can’t wait to get
started with this new chapter and perform for this city and the fans!”
A-League Head Coach Mark Milligan has been monitoring Nkomo for a while, and is
delighted to have signed him,
“Richie is a player our staff has been monitoring for some time. He is a powerful left-back
with the ability to get forward. Richie fits the football we want to play, and even though he is
still very young, I feel that he will be able to have an impact sooner rather than later. He
has shown great growth through pre-season, and we are excited to continue to work with
him in future development.”
